High Winds warm up

Then we spent a day rehearsing our music with a good friend (and outstanding trombone player) Carsten Rubling.

Early morning the next day we hit the road to Canmore to play a show in Bow Valley Provincial Park for the local employees. This show was probably my favourite of them all. Everyone brought different cheese plates, fruit baskets and salads. Mike and I played 2 sets of original music and some of our favourite jazz standards and Carsten joined us on the moog for a few tunes. We could actually see the mountains from where we were sitting on our stage.

Mike and I had a breathtaking drive on Spray Lake road through hundreds of mountains.

After that we drove into Banff to play our 4 gigs at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.

Banff was stunning and it was hard to leave but we were super excited about playing our last show in Rocky Mountain House. We were welcomed by 40 plus enthusiastic music fans who treated us so well. We sold out of our cds and filled our bellies with delicious treats and wine!

Thank you to everyone who gave us their beds, made us coffee and shared their enthusiasm about music with us. We will for SURE be back as soon as we can!

Mike and I are SO excited to be announcing our first Western-Canada tour! We are starting off in Calgary for a show downtown Saturday March 9th (details TBA) and then heading to Banff to play a couple shows at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel! After we hit the slopes and spa while singing some jazz we’re headed up to Rocky Mountain House where we’ll be playing a sweet show for the locals! Then we’re off to BC!

We’re still ironing out final details so check back before Friday for an official list of our gigs!

We’ve had a great start to the new year with two shows:

January 5th at Brasseurs du Temps brewery in Hull, Québec

January 17th at Lee’s Palace in Toronto, Ontario

We’ve been writing new music and are currently booking a BUNCH of Toronto dates for the spring. We also just found out that we’ll be touring in Alberta starting March 8th in Calgary! Keep an eye out for our show dates and come hear our new sound!

Michael LIndberg and I are so excited to be playing with Running Red Lights at the Free Times Cafe. We’ve been working on new tunes and have a great set to play for you!

Also… do you LOVE Dave Matthews Band but can’t afford to catch them on tour? Come out to Lee’s Palace on November 15th to hear the best DMB tribute band in all the land. I’ll be opening up the night with my original music before joining the band on a few tunes. It’s going to be one huge party so make sure you get there early!

Mike Lindburg and I are going to be playing a private birthday party tomorrow at the Balmy Beach club in the Beaches. It has been so lovely looking back at all of the jazz charts that have been hidden away in boxes since I graduated Humber College. We’ll be playing public venues soon – hold tight!!

Last night I had the pleasure of sharing the stage with my good friends Sick Wicked Nasty and Miles Jones at the Rivoli. Thanks to everyone that came out – we all had a blast!!

I also had the absolute pleasure to perform with a friend of mine, Cat Lewis last Thursday evening. Cat is an outstanding singer, songwriter and performer from Toronto who is about to hit the music scene BIG time once he’s done his B.Mus. I’ve been fortunate enough to sing with him for the past two years at Humber College and was delighted when he asked me to share the stage for his Final Recital at Humber College. Ottawa – you’re fun! Merci for les bon times! Now that I’m back in TO it’s time to get down to business. My music video for “Accelerate”

will be released mid-week and this coming weekend I will be filming my first ever Southern Souls video with the talented Mitch Fillion. I also am lucky enough to be playing ANOTHER show at Hart House (UofT) with some selected members of the Hart House String Ensemble. We’ll be playing three tunes – The River, In My Room and One Behind The Other and then some other killer songwriters will be up to perform their tunes as well. The date is March 8th, 2012 at 8:00pm The show is free and will be filmed by a UofT TV crew so if you can’t make it I’ll post some live footage soon after.

I’m also going to be playing a show in Quebec on Friday February 17th, 2012. The venue is TBA as we’re currently choosing between two different places. Check back for more details soon!
